Chantilly Library Volunteer April 27

We are volunteering at the Chantilly Library on Sat. 4/27 @ 8:30.  Practice @ CHS follows immediately afterwards.

calendar 5/3-5/11

Friday, 5/3 – host Centreville @ 5:45 & 7:15; Senior Night & CYA U6 halftime games.  Wet weather forecast; please prepare for rain.  Varsity players please meet dressed at 5:45 for a team picture at the entrance to Charlie Charger Stadium.

 

                Saturday, 5/4 – Varsity practice @ CHS 11-1.

 

                Monday, 5/6 – Varsity practice @ CHS 5-6:30

 

                Tuesday, 5/7 – Varsity practice @ Poplar Tree Park 3:45-5:30.

 

                Wednesday, 5/8 –Districts first round @ CHS vs. Centreville; game time TBD.

 

                Thursday, 5/9 – Varsity practice @ CHS 5-6:30

 

                Friday, 5/10 – District semi-finals @ #1 seed.

 

                Saturday, 5/11 - Varsity practice @ CHS 9-11.

Tryouts

CHANTILLY BOYS LACROSSE

2019 TRYOUT POLICY

 

 

  1. Open to all male students in good academic standing.
     
     
  2. Participants must have the VHSL physical, emergency care, extracurricular participation, concussion reviews; (athlete & parent) along with a copy of most recent grades on file beforehand.  Fall and winter athletes do not need the physical or concussion reviews; only updated emergency care, extracurricular forms and their current grades.  Please return by Wednesday, 2/13; at conditioning sessions.  This allows coaches and Athletic Trainers to review/process the paperwork so all players will be eligible to tryout on time.  Forms available on-line @ www.chantillysports.org; click “files & links” tab.
     
     
  3. Equipment required: Stick, Gloves, Mouth Guard, Protective Cup, Pads, Spikes and Sneakers.  Helmets and practice jerseys will be provided.  Sweats are mandatory until the weather improves.
     
     
  4. Assessment Criteria:
       
    * Three C’s (Character, Commitment and Courage)
    * Athleticism (speed, strength, coordination & conditioning)
    * Stick Skills
    * GBalls
    * Field Sense, Vision and Decision Making
    * Defensive & Offensive Skills
    * Communication Skills
    * Unique specialist skills (i.e. Goalie/Face-Off)
                           
     
  5. Timing:
     
    Monday, Feb. 11 – helmet & pinnie distribution at workout 6-7pm
    Wednesday, Feb. 13 – MANDATORY Gauntlet: 6-7:15pm @ CHS
    Monday, Feb. 18 – JV tryout 3-4:45 & Varsity 4:15-6:15 @ CHS
    Tuesday, Feb. 19 – JV tryout 7-8:45 & Varsity 7:45-9:45 @ CHS
    Wednesday, Feb. 20 – JV tryout 7-8:45 & Varsity 7:45-9:45 @ CHS

  6. Estimated Team Roster Size:
     
    Varsity: @ 25-28 players   JV: @ 25-28 players
     
     
     
  7. Practice Policy:
    Monday through Friday @ 3:30–5:30 pm @ Poplar Tree Park

Saturdays: 9-11am @ CHS

Attendance is mandatory

Potential conflicts are discussed in advance between player and Coaches.
