Wrestling Information (June 10, 2018)

Tomorrow (Monday, June 11)

All wrestlers should try and stay after school tomorrow from 12:15PM to 2:30PM. Coach Keel will be at Chantilly to meet the wrestlers and coaches. We will be cleaning the wrestling room and getting the mats back down for summer workouts. We will have a short workout after the wrestling room is cleaned and organized. Stay tuned for a summer practice/workout schedule.

Upcoming Tournaments

Welcome Chantilly's New Head Wrestling Coach - Matt Keel

Matt Keel comes to Chantilly after serving as the Head Wrestling Coach at Skyline High School. Coach Keel will be the new Business and Information Teacher in the Chantilly Academy (which is in the building at Chantilly High School). Matt has coached 2 state champions, 8 state finalists, and 28 all-state wrestlers. Coach Keel is also a Virginia National Team coach. Matt's wife, Virginia, will be teaching English at Madison High School, two of his sons will be attending and wrestling at Chantilly, and his three youngest will be in middle school and elementary school.

Coach Keel and Disney Duals

The "Sick Nasty Dual Team" has openings for Disney Duals at 182+5, 220+5, 285+5, and possible 113+5. The cost is $400 and covers everything. We depart June 23 and return June 29. Our team is competitive and is comprised of multiple state placers. We stay in a house with a pool and go out and have fun when we aren't wrestling. If a wrestler would like to attend with us for a week in Florida please contact me at mkeel@wcps.k12.va.us

Wrestling Room - Summer Practices

The wrestling room will transition back to a wrestling room beginning Monday, June 11. Please stay tuned for a summer practice schedule.

Chantilly Team Technique Camp at UVA - June 24 through June 27

We encourage all Chantilly wrestlers to attend this great experience! The cost of the camp is $420. However, each wrestler will first pay the $495. Once the Chantilly team reaches 12+ wrestlers then each wrestler will receive a $75 discount. If payment is made in-full when registering, the credit card will be refunded $75 to reflect the team discount. First, parents should enroll online and pay the $150 deposit to get in the UVA system. Once enrolled, the discount will be applied to all Chantilly wrestlers. Parents should pay the remaining balance 2-weeks prior to camp. A reminder email will go out to them to let them they have a balance.

Wrestlers, start saving your money now! Check out the camp website and REGISTER HERE: http://www.wrestlingcampsatvirginia.com/home

We will need parents to help with the car pool to UVA on Sunday, June 24 and back to Chantilly from UVA on Wednesday, June 27. Please use this link to sign-up for the car pool: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0B45A9AA2BA13-carpool3
