Matt Brown Wrestling Clinic

NCAA Champion Matt Brown is here for a one day clinic. Tomorrow at Episcopal HS. It’s not to late to register. Lunch is included you can’t beat the price.  Any questions please call Dustin Payne 240-377-1014. 
 
Parents: The registration table will be located on campus just inside the Hershey Athletic center doors. Please bring the signed waiver and a copy of your insurance card with you.

When: August 1st from 9AM-4PM

Where: 1200 N Quaker St Alexandria, VA 22302

What to Bring: Workout gear, Water, running shoes, notepad and pen

Cost: Clinic is 25$ at the door. Lunch will be provided. Must have a USA Wrestling Card

Why: To develop wrestlers to be the best they can be with the best talent around

Bio on NCAA Champion Matt Brown: Matt Brown has accomplished much in his 25-year life. Three Utah high school state titles. Three Big Ten championships. Three-time NCAA All-American. 2015 NCAA 174-pound championship. Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) member. A bachelor's and master's degree from Penn State. Numerous academic awards. And, just last month, he learned he was the only wrestler in a group of ten student-athletes to earn the NCAA Today's Top 10 Award

UVA Wrestling Camp

 

Parents and Wrestlers,

**UPDATE** - We will NOT be staying at the Cavalier Inn Hotel. Instead, we will be staying at the University of Virginia's Faulkner Apartments (Faulkner Way, Charlottesville, VA 22903). UVA Faulkner Apartments Website. This also means you will need to bring additional items, which are:
  • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.)
  • Pillow and linens for a full size bed (a sleeping bag works well too on top of the mattress)
 
Please complete the following paperwork and bring it with you to camp!

Schedule
  • Sunday, July 9
    • Meet at Chantilly High School by door #10 by the tennis courts at 10AM. We will depart by charter bus at 10:30AM and arrive in Charlottesville around 12:30PM. We will have a quick lunch at Barracks Road Shopping Center. Wrestlers will need to bring money/cash for this meal. We will be back on the bus by 1PM. We will continue to Faulkner Apartments for check-in.
    • 2:30PM - 3:00PM - Orientation
    • 3:15PM - 4:45PM - Session
    • 5:00PM - 6:00PM - Dinner
    • 7:00PM - 9:00PM - Session
  • Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11
    • 6:30AM - 7:30AM Chantilly Conditioning
    • 7:45AM - 8:45AM Breakfast
    • 9:00AM - 11:00AM Session
    • 11:30AM - 12:30PM Lunch
    • 3:15PM - 4:30PM Session
    • 5:00PM - 6:00PM Dinner
    • 7:00PM - 9:00PM Session
  • Wednesday, July 12
    • 6:45AM - 7:45AM Breakfast

Things to Bring to Camp
  • CLEAN wrestling workout clothing for 9 sessions (ADVICE: bring more than what you need)
  • Wrestling shoes
  • Running shoes
  • Optional: headgear, kneepads, singlets
  • Optional: spending money (cash) for camp store
  • Optional: bottled water, gatorade, snacks, etc.
 
Check-In, Camp Registration, & Housing

We will check-in at Faulkner Apartments at the University of Virginia. *There will be a $20 Key Deposit collected at check-in. Each lost key will cost $10. The address is Faulkner Way, Charlottesville, VA 22903). UVA Faulkner Apartments Website


Supervision
Wrestling Camps at Virginia LLC staff and counselors will supervise campers. Coach Winfrey will also be staying the entirety of camp. Campers will not be permitted to travel anywhere without Supervision! Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and may be grounds for dismissal from camp without refund.
 
Meals
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided by the chef’s staff at the Athletes-Only Dining Hall in the John Paul Jones Arena. Appropriate clothing (clean shirt with sleeves, shorts or pants, and shoes), as well as appropriate behavior is expected from every camper at every meal. *If you have food allergies please notify English Garland at englishgarland@yahoo.com. Accommodations will be provided for anyone with food allergies. The following meals will be provided for the boarding camper: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
 
Insurance & Medical Forms
Wrestling Camps at Virginia, LLC requires all campers to carry personal health insurance and to have had a recent physical exam or sign our consent form. There will be certified athletic training staff present at all camp functions. All paperwork can be located here: UVA Wrestling Camp Welcome Packet


Camp Store
Virginia Wrestling Camps will be operating a camp store for the campers’ convenience. The camp store will be open each evening following the final session until the time of bed checks. It will also be open during check-in and check-out for your convenience. Daily camp store inventory will consist of UVA wrestling gear, Gatorade, pizza, water bottles, Defense Soap, candy, bars, snacks, etc...

 

Laundry
Each camper will receive a free Virginia Wrestling laundry bag along with a bar of Defense Soap at registration. They are welcome to fill that laundry bag to the brim and leave it in the camp store at night to be washed and returned to them clean the following night for a $10 laundry fee.
