After two days of rescheduling, the Chantilly Chargers defeated a very tough Langley team on a bright Labor Day afternoon. The Charger offense had a persistent, balanced attack and overcame penalties and turnovers to win 21-14. 

With the help of the Charger offensive line, senior Torrian Pace rushed for two touchdowns and 144 yards.  Senior Quarterback Roger Strittmatter added 124 yards of offense and a touchdown pass to junior WR/RB Mike Farris. 

The Chargers were able to avoid a disastrous error on special teams thanks to Mike Fries’ shiftiness and quick thinking.  Fries managed to secure a bad snap, avoid the Saxon rush, and punt the ball to the Saxon 45 yard line.

The Charger defense, led by senior linebacker Issac Sine’s 19 tackles and senior defensive tackle Sam Dietz’s control of the interior line, recovered from a lengthy 19 play Saxon drive in the third quarter to hold onto the win. Safety Kris Martin secured the victory by intercepting a pass in the end zone as time expired.
