Robinson at Chantilly Swim & Dive Meet Report

Robinson at Chantilly – December 5, 2008

Chargers

Oak Marr Recreation Center – The Chantilly Chargers hosted the visiting Robinson Rams in the Chargers’ first AAA Concorde District meet of the 2008-2009 season.  On the boy’s side, the defending state champions had too much depth and outpaced the hard fighting Chargers. The Charger girls dominated all three relay events but were not strong enough overall to take the meet from the last year’s Northern Region Co-champs.

Boys Competition

The Charger boys took first place in two individual events.  The final score of the boys’ competition was 198-117 making the Charger boy’s record 0-1.

Kyle Ford delivered his first individual Charger victories of the young season with impressive swims in the 200 individual medley and the 200 back.

Girls Competition

The Charger girls were dominant in the three relay events and scored two individual victories, but it was not enough to overcome the strong Ram team.  The Chargers were defeated by a score of 194-121 to make their record to 0-1.

The 200 medley “A” relay team consisting of Alexis Regan, Becca Yost, Shannon Silsby and Ziwei Li got the Chargers off to a fast start with a win.  Shannon Silsby went out fast and brought home an impressive victory in the 100 fly.  The second relay victory came in the 200 free when Yost, Sarah Graupp, Lauren Bachman and Silsby delivered a convincing win.  Becca Yost was strong in the 100 breast to rack up her first individual victory of the year.  In the 400 free relay; Bachman, Graupp, Li and Regan completed the Charger relay sweep.

Charger Individual Victory Summary

Kyle Ford was a double event winner (200 IM & 100 back) for the boys.

Shannon Silsby (100 fly) and Becca Yost (100 breast) were single event winners for the girls.
