The following information is meant to either serve as a reminder for those who attended our January 18th informational meeting, or as new information for those who could not make it. These deadlines are firm: please set them aside if you are committed to running track this spring. There will be no excpetions made.

ALL ATHLETES MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING FORMS NO LATER THAN FIRDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

- Student-Athlete Info Sheet (to be completed at Jan. meeting)

- VHSL Physical Form (if not turned in for a previous season)

- Emergency Care Card (if you did not participate in winter track)

All forms, except for Spirit Pack, must be submitted to Coach Gilchrist in Room 217. All forms can be downloaded from the Forms Menu found on the www.chargercctrack.com homepage.

IMPORTANT DATES:

- Friday, February 16th (3:00 PM) – All forms are due.

- Monday, February 19th, (President’s Day) – 6:00 PM – MANDATORY MEETING – Bring a parent; this will cover all administrative paperwork, rules, schedule & other “stuff”.

- Wednesday, February 21st (2:50 PM) – First day of practice. Come dressed to work out, and be prepared for the weather. All paperwork must be turned in by this day.

- Friday, February 23rd – ROSTER CLOSES. No one else will be added after this date (this date is for athletes who are cut from other sports, not to be confused with 1st day of practice).

- Saturday, March 3rd – TBA – Team pictures.

Please check regularly the CHS track & field website @ www.chargercctrack.com for announcements, and for forms needed. Most communications will be done through the web, or email.

If you are not currently running winter track or participating in another sport, you are expected to start conditioning over this next month. Get a good pair of running shoes (not cross-trainers, tennis shoes, etc), and you should be running on your own at least 3-5 days a week, ranging from 15-30 minutes, in order to be in shape. We will expect that you have done some conditioning prior to the season, and workouts will be geared accordingly. We have high expectations for this team, and being motivated and prepared, by working out on your own, is a sign that you too have high expectations for both yourself and this team.
