Summer LAX Camp

Good evening!  I hope everyone is having a good week.  It is hard to believe that the season is over.  Some of the girls expressed an interest in attending a camp this summer.  There are lots of them out there.  This is not a requirement.  I have looked at the JMU camp, it is reasonably priced, and they supply a discount if we have more than 4 girls attending.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending.  I have an email out about how to register with the discount.  We can also carpool if needed.

I look forward to seeing everyone next week 5/28 for the End of Season Banquet.

Saturday April 6 Reminder

Good morning Ladies!  Here is the information for our team service project this Saturday from 9-11:30.  I can give service hours if you enter this into x2Vol.  (Please be sure to write your reflection).

Where to Meet

Meet at the Visitor Center at Sully Historic Site. The Site address is 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly, VA 20151. Meet at a few minutes before 9 a.m. in order to sign-in, get trash bags, and receive further instructions. It is important to arrive on-time so you don’t get left behind.

Google Map link here for reference.

What to Wear

Please be sure to dress properly for the workday and weather. Dressing in layers is recommended. Wear long pants and sturdy work boots or other closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, muddy or wet—no sandals. Depending on conditions, a hat may also be helpful.

What to Bring

  • Bring a couple of water bottles. It’s a good idea to have at least 64 oz. of water in order to stay hydrated (two Nalgene-type bottles)
  • Work gloves for picking up trash
  • Sunscreen, Insect Repellent (if desired)
  • Camera or smartphone for taking pictures. We encourage you to share photos via social media and with us after the workday!
    • Use the hashtag #WinForEarth, #LoveVA, #FairfaxParks

Looking forward to this program activity.

Purple Tie Bash (March 9th)

Ticket Sales

We are currently at just half the number of tickets we need to break even for the event and we are short on auction items.  Would you please send out an email to your families inviting them to purchase tickets and encouraging them to invite their friends to attend the fundraiser as well - maybe even purchase a table for themselves and friends.  Dr. Poole has a bus of 50 people from his neighborhood attending!

The Purple Tie Bash is Saturday, March 9th from 7:30 p.m. to midnight at the Fair Oaks Marriott Hotel.  https://chantillysports.org/main/otherad/contentID/261982  Tickets include heavy hors d'oeuvres, drinks, dancing, and a fun silent auction.  I've included verbiage for an email to send out to your families to make it easier for you.  Maybe we could even do a challenge - which team can get the most number of families signed up!

This has been a rebuilding year for the Athletic Boosters and our funds are well below where they need to be to support our teams appropriately.  We have taken lots of steps to clean up the administration of the boosters funds and this fundraiser will be the kickoff for the new year of funding so we need your help to make it terrific.
