Please notate the following green days that have been assigned. While green 
days are not mandatory they are highly recommended; participation requires a 
valid physical on file with the ATC. Thanks and hope to see you at the stadium

MANDATORY concussion education information

Concussion Education Test and Physicals on File Before ANY Conditioning

Fairfax County Public School have added the following to requisites for participation in an Athletic Activity. These changes go into effect on August 1, 2011

1. A sports physical is required to participate on any athletic team in the state of Virginia, in addition a sports physical is now required for all preseason and postseason activities conducted by a Chantilly coaching staff member. This would include all conditioning held by the high school coaching staff and any organized play coached by the high school staff. If you have a question concerning the need for a physical for your activity, contact the Varsity Head Coach listed on this website for your sport, Physicals can be turned to the Athletic Trainers or the Activities Office(located at Entrance 11)

2. This year every athlete and one parent of every athlete must take a short on-line test about concussions. The link to take this test, please follow the link to: http://www.fcps.edu/supt/activities/atp/health/concussion/ceov_program.shtml

Once there, you will find a link for parents to take it and a link for the athlete to take it. Once the parent has completed the slide show, the program will issue a certificate. We suggest you print off a copy for your records. Your completion will automatically go into a database that is tracked by the Chantilly Athletic Trainers. After the athlete has completed the slide show, there is no certificate to print. His/her completion will also go into that database. The Athletic Trainers will use the database to confirm that the required concussion tests have been successfully completed by both the parent and the athlete. An Athlete's sports physical is not valid and an athlete is not eligible until the concussion education program is completed by parent and athlete
