Sept 21 Report
It was a loooong week for the Charger golfers. On Monday, following the Girls Northern Region qualifier, the team held a late practice. On Tuesday, the team took on Centreville at CNCC and came away with a 159-179 victory. Gabe Lainez was medalist with a 39, and several player had 40's as the boys may have been looking ahead to the Wednesday match with Westfield.
On Wednesday the Chargers travelled to Pleasant Valley and the two undefeated Concorde rivals met for what would probably determine the regular season championship. When the final scores were tallied, a disbelieving crowd was treated to a 146-146 tie. After nine holes by twelve golfers, the two evenly matched teams were tied on the scoreboard. Jake An, Ji Soo Park, and Gabe Lainez all carded 36's and Matt Litton's clutch putt on the 9th hole secured the final result. Even though there were several suggested tie-breaker procedures, including a sumo wrestling match between the coaches, Concorde district policy for golf is that all ties remain ties in dual matches.
This meant that in order to remain ties atop the district, the Chargers had to defeat Herndon in the final match on Thursday. The team fired a season low 141 to Herndon's 160 to finish the district at 5-0-1. Jake An turned in a 33, Sam Chanhiran contributed a 34 and Ji Soo Park came in with a 35. The team now plays on Tuesday at Twin Lakes, September 25, at 12:00 noon, in the Concorde District Championship Tournament. The tournament will be on the Lakes course. The first day will be a shotgun start.

At the Cougar Classic at International CC, the team finished in third place, and was the only team with all five golfers in the seventies.
