Spring Sports Physical at Chantilly
The first step to participate in any preseason or after-school athletic event is completing a sports physical. The Chantilly High School Athletic Training Department will be offering sports physicals at Chantilly High School on June 21st, 2016 with appointments running from 5:30pm-7:30pm. This physical will be good for all sports and out of season practices (green days, yellow days, weight room workouts) for the 2016-2017 school year. This event is a fundraiser for the Chantilly High School Athletic Training Department and goes to support the athletes at Chantilly High School. The cost of the physical is $50 when you register online, $60 for walk-ins.

You can register by following this link: http://www.fcps.edu/sports and click on “sports physical (PPE)”

We are always looking for medical and non-medical volunteers to assist us for the event. If you are interested in helping out, please contact us at kabishop@fcps.edu or kaboss@fcps.edu, or click on the registration link to sign up.

Local Upcoming Wrestling Camps
  • Choose Top Leg Camp at McLean HS (May 31 through June 2 from 6PM to 8PM)
    • The ability to use your legs from the top position to control your opponent is one of the ultimate equalizers in scholastic wrestling. This camp is designed to teach you to stay in good position, score, pin, and defend legs.
    • Information and Registration
  • "The Rock" Wrestling Camp at Rock Ridge HS in Ashburn VA (June 20 through June 23 from 9AM to 3PM)
  • Pennsylvania InVAsion Technique Camp at Top of the Podium in Sterling, VA (June 27 through June 30)
    • This high-level camp features star coaches and wrestlers from the nation's most dominating wrestling state. 2015 NCAA Champion Matt Brown (Penn State), 2x NCAA Finalist Mitchell Port (Edinboro), 2x NCAA D-II Champion Joe Kemmerer, and current stars from Penn State's Wrestling Team.
    • Information and Registration
  • Wade Schalles & Chris Marshall's Pinning & More Camp at Top of the Podium in Sterling, VA (July 5 through July 8)
    • Wade Schalles is a legendary wrestler and perhaps the greatest pinner in U.S. history. In fact, the Schalles Award (named after Wade) is given to the nation’s top NCAA pinner every year! Wade is also a 2x NCAA champion, a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and was named the 4th greatest wrestler of all-time at the NCAA’s 75 Year Celebration. He holds the NCAA record for most pins (106) and is often called the “Father of Funk” for his exciting style. Just as importantly, he knows how to teach and entertain campers, as does Chris Marshall who just happens to be a NCAA All-American and Midlands Champion! Both men understand how to engage wrestlers of all age levels by using memorable phrases, humor, and innovative teaching techniques. And, yes, they are experts in pinning!
    • Information and Registration
  • 3 Style Wrestling Camp at Falls Church HS (July 11 through July 15)
  • Iowa Style "Intense" Camp at Top of the Podium in Sterling, VA (August 15 through August 19)
    • This summer, three former Iowa Hawkeyes will be leading our local wrestlers. This includes Camp Director Ruffin Tchakounte, 3x All-American Mike Evans (back by popular demand for the 3rd straight year), and 3x All-American Nathan Burak will make his first appearance at TOP. Nathan recently finished 4th in the nation at the NCAA Championships in Madison Square Garden in March. Both Evans and Burak will be at the camp the entire week, so the campers will get to know them well! We call this an “Intense” Camp because of its overall attitude and vibe. Wrestlers learn what it’s like to practice in a college-level wrestling room and are expected to work hard and give 110% effort. While there is some live wrestling and conditioning, we should be clear that this is not an “intensive” camp where athletes are pushed to the limit on a daily basis. That said, campers should come to camp in reasonable shape. Each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt!
