Virginia Duals is the most exciting tournament on our schedule. If you can make it, I suggest you attend! We will be leaving for Virginia Duals by charter bus at 7AM this Friday, January 8. The Virginia Duals is at the Hampton Coliseum. We will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Hampton Coliseum Central (1999 Power Plant Pkwy, Hampton VA 23666; 757-310-6323). We previously were staying at the SpringHill Suites (next door), but renovations caused us to change hotels. The cost per wrestler/manager is $30 (the cost of the bus). Also, if a parent would like to ride the bus the cost is also $30 (let me know). We will be taking 43 wrestlers/managers. Please let me know if anyone on the list cannot attend.

We will be weighing-in at 4:30PM on Friday and will be wrestling at 7PM against Arvada West (Colorado) on mat 3. If we win, we will wrestle at 8:30PM on mat 7 and I anticipate we will wrestle Bellefonte (Pennsylvania). If we lose, we will wrestle at 8:30AM on Saturday morning and I anticipate we will wrestle Staunton River (Virginia). Bracket and schedule is below. I've scouted Arvada West and the scouting report is below. I can see Chantilly winning by a score of 31-27.

I will be printing and distributing the PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCE FIELD TRIP FORM and the PARENTAL AUTHORIZATION FORM for Virginia Duals. All wrestlers/managers need to see me first thing Monday morning (tomorrow) to pick up forms for Virginia Duals. Also, I will give GRADE SHEETS to the required wrestlers. ALL FORMS ARE DUE THURSDAY, JANUARY 7.

We will also be need of  Team food for Virginia Duals for both Friday and Saturday. The cooler can be brought to the school on Friday morning at 7AM to be taken to the event and will be returned upon the return. Team Food is a cooler filled with items such as 2 cases of Gatorade, 2 cases of water, carrots, spinach, fresh fruit, granola, nuts, lunch meat, whole wheat bread, almond butter, tuna, dozen boiled eggs, and bagels. Fluids are most important, followed by carbs and protein. Please stay away from pre-packaged foods. Thank you!

 

Team Food Sign-Up for Virginia Duals

Junior Varsity wrestles at Hayfield H.S. for JV Jamboree on Thursday, January 7. JV wrestlers must arrive back at Chantilly H.S. and be in the locker room by 4PM. Bus at 4:30PM. Weigh-In at 5PM. Wrestle at 6PM to 9PM. Bus arrives back at Chantilly by 10PM. Please encourage wrestlers to complete homework during the event.

 

JV Roster for Hayfield

There will be more wrestle-offs this Tuesday during practice from 3:30PM to 4PM. The team will warm-up on the opposite side of the wrestling room. Wrestlers competing in the wrestle-offs should be warmed-up by 3:30PM.

All wrestlers should bring in $30 for the Virginia Duals charter bus and $5 for Senior Gifts for Senior Night. Checks can be written for $35 to Chantilly High School. This is a HUGE HELP so THANK YOU!

We are hosting the 2nd Annual Joe Verciglio Memorial Tournament on Friday, January 15 and Saturday, January 16. We have a reputation of having one of the best run tournaments and most delicious hospitality rooms in all the area. This is a HUGE tournament and "fundraiser" for us so , we will need ALL HANDS ON DECK for food donations, hospitality room workers, tickets takers and concession workers. If you are unable to contribute your time and or bring up a food donation then we would like to suggest you provide a monetary donation which will be utilized to purchase an item/items needed to make this event a success. ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!! The 2nd Annual Joe Verciglio Memorial Tournament is coming up on Friday, January 15 and Saturday, January 16 at Chantilly High School. We need TONS of help recruiting local sponsors/businesses! We need a few parents of underclassmen to volunteer to work concessions and ticket/admissions for Senior Night on Wednesday, January 20. After the dual please plan on joining us for a small celebration to recognize our seniors in the Cafeteria. We are asking that each non-senior wrestler's/manager's family to donate $5 each as a senior gift to go towards the food, flowers, shirts etc that will be needed for this event to honor our seniors.
