Chantilly played their final home game of the season Monday night, avenging an early season loss with a convincing 16-6, 5 inning win over a very good Oakton team. Adam Fridy went the distance on the hill for the Chargers, notching 8 strikeouts and scattering 6 hits over 5 innings.

The game was close early, tied at 1 apiece after 2. Oakton’s centerfielder made a tremendous play on a long drive by Bill Boyle to stop a Chantilly rally in the bottom of the first. The Chantilly offense got on track in the 3^rd, exploding for 7 runs, followed by 3 more in the 4^th, and 5 more in the 5^th to close out the game by mercy rule. The Chargers were led at the plate by Christian Temple’s 3 hits, including a triple and an RBI, a triple, single, and 4 RBIs by Ben Langford, a Home Run to deep left and a single from Wes Kerbuski, a single and a triple by Adam Fridy, 2 singles and 3RBIs from Sam Zimmerman, a double and 2 RBIs by Jamie Danehower, and 2 singles by Mike Miller. Matt Dewitt also doubled for Chantilly, and Bill Boyle and Trey Tucker collected singles.

Chantilly, now 11-2 on the year, closes out their season at Westfield on Wednesday night.
