A big and spirited crowd came out to Chantilly  Friday night, and the JV Chargers didn't disappoint, coming from behind to defeat a very good Robinson team 4-3.  Singles in the first by Christian Temple, Wes Kerbuski, a double from Adam Fridy, and an RBI single from Bill Boyle put the chargers on top 1-0.  The Rams stormed back and scored 3 in the 4th to take a 3-1 lead.  Chantilly cut into the lead in the 4th after singles from Ben Langford and Sam Zimmerman.  In the 5th, Wes Kerbuski, Fridy, and  Matt Dewitt singled, then DH AJ Worley smashed a 2 RBI double to deep left center to give the Chargers back the lead for good. 

Kerbuski made a beautiful diving catch on a fly ball to shallow right in the 5th.  With the Chargers up 4-3 in the 6th, starter and winning pitcher Bill Boyle got some help from his defense to get out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and only 1 out, left fielder Zimmerman caught a deep fly ball, threw a strike to 3rd baseman Langford, who turned and fired a perfect relay to catcher Dewitt, who made a beautiful block/tag at home to complete the 7-5-3 DP and shut down the rally.  Robinson got the tying run to 2nd base with 2 outs in the 7th, but Boyle retired the last Ram batter to finish off his complete game victory performance.

The 5-1 Chargers go on the road to play rival Oakton on Monday, followed by home games against Westfield and Centreville on Wednesday and Friday of next week.
