The JV Chantilly Chargers opened up their season at home in dramatic fashion today, defeating Yorktown 7-6 in 8 innings. Freshman Jamie Danehower touched off a mob scene celebration at home plate by ripping a 2-strike "walk off" line drive single to right to score Sam Zimmerman from 2nd on a very close play at the plate to get the extra inning win. Bill Boyle got the opening day start for the Chargers, with strong relief stints from "Sweet Lou" Paladeau, Dan Lawler, Will Bashaw, and AJ Worley who picked up the win to close out the game. The Charger defense was stellar behind their pitchers, committing only 1 error, with a highlight reel over the shoulder catch by Paladeau on a deep shot to center in the 4th.

Offensive highlights for the Chargers were a 400 foot blast by Boyle off the centerfield wall for a double; another launch to deep left center by catcher Matt Dewitt, who was 2-3, 3 RBIS; Wes Kerbuski who was 2-4; and, a 4-4 performance from Zimmerman with 2 RBIs and 2 steals.

Next up for the JV Chargers after spring break is a 6PM game on 3/27 at Edison.
