Chantilly Boys Tennis Team pull off an epic comeback in the State Quarter Final!!

Chantilly Boys Tennis went to Robinson to play in the State Quarter Final on Friday. The Chargers went down 2-4 in the Singles and were faced with needing to win all 3 doubles. The Doubles didn’t start out well either and in all 3 matches they lost their first sets. The match started at 2PM and the temperature was pushing 90 and at 8:30 PM the match had to be called because of darkness. So at this point the Chargers were down 2-4 in the Singles but they had started their comeback with Number 1 Doubles winning the 2nd set and were up 5-3  in the 3rd set. Number 2 Doubles also split sets but had not started the 3rd set. Number 3 doubles started their comeback and had split sets but were tied 4-4 in the 3rd.

The match continued on Saturday at the Springfield Golf and Country Club with the Number 1 Doubles finishing off Robinson quickly and won the 3rd set 6-3. Number 3 Doubles went to a tiebreaker in the third set coming away with a 7-6 (7-4 tiebreaker) win. Now tied 4-4 with Robinson, it was down to the Number 2 Doubles to determine the winner. The Chargers # 2 Doubles went up early in the 3rd set 3-0 and finished it with a 6-3 win. This was a truly epic comeback and  due to teamwork and the determination to win, the Chargers overcame their deficit and put a win in books.

Now on to the State Semi-Final against Oakton. Time for this match still has not been determined.

Chantilly Boys Tennis hands Oakton their First loss and ruins their Undefeated Season!

Chantilly Boys Tennis stepped up for the challenge Friday to deflate Oakton’s sails by handing them their first loss and ruining their plans for an undefeated season. Every single one of our players was involved in one way or another to bring home this great win. From laying everything they had out on the court and playing their hearts out to moving around from court to court to cheer for their teammates.

It worked, and we won!!

Congratulation CHARGERS! You did it!!

Chantilly Boys Tennis Team wins a big match against Madison missing 3 normal starters!

The Chantilly Boys Tennis Team wins a big match while missing 3 normal starters. This was a total TEAM effort. All the remaining starters were moved up the lineup and the lower part of the lineup was filled in with players that normally have played exhibition matches.

Shaun Ganju, Akhil Kamalesh, Keith Orr, and Sachin Manivannan all had to move up the line-up and they still produced big wins for the Chargers. Sean Plotnick and Daniel Zhao filled in for key spots at the 5 and 6 singles spots. Thank you guys, that is a tough job!

Congratulations to all the Chargers! This was a GREAT win! Thanks to the entire Boys Tennis Team for stepping up when it was needed! Thanks to all the rest of the team for moving around the courts and cheering for our players, they all really appreciate it!

Congratulation to everyone on our team. What a great TEAM effort!
