Concorde District Championships
All seven teams in the district compete in the Concorde District Championship meet. A team’s district dual meet win and loss record is not a factor in determining the District Champion. The team with the highest point total for swimming and diving at the conclusion of the championship meet is the Concorde District Champion.
Each of the seven teams sends four swimmers in each event to the Friday evening preliminaries. To be eligible to participate in Districts, a swimmer must have competed in four of the seven dual meets. Finals are held on Saturday for the swimmers who qualify. Each team is allowed to enter one relay team for each relay event at Districts which occur during Saturday Finals. As in dual meets, individual swimmers may participate in a maximum of four events. However, no more than two can be individual events.
Preliminaries – The top 16 swimmers from each individual event held at Friday Preliminaries advance to Saturday Finals - the top eight swimmers qualify for the A-Final heat; the next fastest eight swimmers qualify for Consolation Final (B-Final).
Finals - The top six swimmers from the A-Final, plus any other swimmers who have met the Region qualifying time standard advance to the Northern Virginia Region Championships held the following week.
Diving – The top six divers from Districts advance to Regionals, as well as any who made the Region qualifying standard.
