Varsity Softball Falls to Westfield
The Chantilly Varsity Softball team experienced “just one of those nights” last Friday evening as they fell 17-0 to district rival Westfield in Chantilly. The Lady Chargers held the visitors to 4 runs on only 4 hits through the first four innings of the contest, but the Westfield bats exploded thereafter to put the game out of reach. Though not all of their runs were earned, the Lady Bulldogs were aggressive at the plate as well as on the base paths and created opportunities for themselves throughout the entire game, thereby taking advantage of the Lady Chargers’ youth and inexperience.
The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back next Tuesday night as they go on the road to face the Herndon Hornets at 6:30 pm.
