Varsity Softball Shuts Out Washington and Lee
Fueled by a terrific pitching performance by Emily Gembarowicz, the Chantilly Varsity Softball team returned to its winning ways Wednesday night with a decisive 4-0 victory over the Washington and Lee Lady Generals in Arlington. By allowing only one hit while recording 9 strikeouts, Emily's lively fastball kept the Lady Generals' bats at-bay the entire contest. The Lady Chargers scored all the runs they needed with one swing of the bat in the fourth inning when Bryanna Kerbuski hit an inside-the-park homer with two on to give Chantilly a 3-0 lead. Wendy Sloan drove in an insurance run with a single in the sixth inning to seal the 4-0 victory.
With a record of 3-2, the Lady Chargers begin Concorde District play next Tuesday with a doubleheader at Robinson beginning at 5:00 pm.
