"The Chantilly Girls Varsity Softball team opened its 2010 season with a resounding 23-0 win over T.C. Williams Wednesday night in Chantilly. The Lady Chargers raced to a 13-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back as Laura Conaghan and Rachel Major each had two hits apiece, while Heather Fernandez drove in four runs and Wendy Sloan, Tori Doherty and Laura Conaghan had three RBIs apiece. Rachel Taft (4 strikeouts) and Emily Gembarowicz (6 strikeouts) combined for a no-hitter.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Mount Vernon tomorrow to face the Lady Majors at 6:00 pm."
