Our team was excited to be back on the field, after several days of rain, and we were able to open the game with a strong first half effort. It was a physical half, but we maintained good possession, played the ball to feet, and took advantage of our opportunities on an Ashley Scherbenske goal.  In the second half the physical play continued to escalate, but we were able to maintain our composure.  Ashley Scherbenske received the ball in space and shook her defender, much like the play on which the first goal was scored, but this time Westfield's defense took her down in the box.  Lauren Mashinski stepped up on the penalty and put our team up 2-0.  Despite a late lull, we were able to hold off Westfield 2-1.
