The Charger girls' soccer team began the Concorde District with a very important win over a much improved and scrappy Herndon team. At the end of the first half, there was no score and the Chargers had very few shots on goal. But, to start the second half, sophomore Jane Muir opened with a goal, assisted by Kristen Melchiori and Kaitlyn Manley. The Hornets fought hard in the last 15 minutes of the game, until the Chargers countered with another goal, this time scored off a beautiful first touch to beat her player and then a shot on goal by Kelsey Harney. Goal was skillfully assisted by Olivia Colella. Chantilly now has 2 weeks off before coming back from break and playing Fairfax at home on Tuesday, 4/14.
