For the first time in school history, the Chargers are Virginia State Champions! The Chargers beat Richmond based Mills Godwin 2-1 on Sunday, in front of a large home crowd. The first goal was scored by JMU bound senior Katie Menzie, unassisted. The second goal of the game came from freshman Olivia Colella off a nice assist from another freshman, Brooke Daniels. The Charger defense, anchored by junior goalkeeper Lauren Jancuska, held strong the entire game yielding only 6 shots the entire game. Chantilly mananged to outshoot Godwin 29 to 6 on the game.
Congratulations to the entire Chantilly Charger girls' soccer team on a historic season. District, Region and VA State Champions! TRIPLE CROWN!
Good luck to our seniors, Cortlyn Bristol, Katie Menzie, Kaitlyn Manley, Kristen Melchiori, Morgan Schack, Jess Stillwell and Melissa Hubbard who will all leave us next year for college. We'll always remember you!
