The Charger girls' soccer team beat the Atlee Raiders (Richmond) 1-0 last night to again move forward in the season. In the first half, Chantilly had many shots but none caused any problems for the goalkeeper. To start the second half, the Chargers came out more energized and with more speed. Senior Cortlyn Bristol showed her skill by beating a player in the center third of the field and then drilled a high ball from about 25 yards out that went over the keepers head and in the goal. The Charger defense held strong and did not allow any potent counter attacks.
Chantilly will play Friday at 2:00 PM, Westfield HS against the winner of the Riverbend/Kempsville game which was suspended last night because of lightening. Please come out and support the Chargers in their quest for a State Championship!
