The Varsity Girls' Soccer team got back on a roll last night, beating highly ranked McLean Highlanders on their senior night, 2-0. The first half started a bit slow for the Chargers, but Katie Menzie sent a 25 yard blast over the McLean keepers head to go up 1-0. McLean's team speed and skill challenged the Chargers the entire game, putting pressure on the defense. Junior keeper Lauren Jancuska had a fantastic game in goal, posting several crucial saves for Chantilly. Jancuska's athleticism showed up in several high saves in traffic. With under 5 minutes to play, freshman Morgan Morris showed her always fiesty play and high work rate by beating McLean on a breakaway and putting away a beautiful shot over the keeper's head. Kudos to Jenna Goffe, Brooke Daniels, Jane Muir, Cristen Thomas, and Olivia Colella for giving the Chargers the needed spark in the game.
