WESTFIELD HIGH: 1
The Chargers got back on track yesterday, beating the Westfield Bulldogs 3-1. The first half started off a bit slowly, but freshman Morgan Morris was able to score from a tough angle to put us up 1-0. Westfield tied the game later in the first half and the game remained tied at halftime. In the second half, the intensity picked up and so did the offensive pressure. The Chargers had several good scoring opportunities, including a very good direct kick by Cortlyn Bristol which was saved by the keeper. The final two goals were scored by Jane Muir (assist to Katie Menzie) and Katie Menzie, both from about 20 yards out. Freshman Olivia Colella again gave the Chargers about 70 good minutes. Next up, undefeated Oakton on Friday at home.
