The Varsity Chantilly Chargers won their first game of the Langley &
McLean Spring Break Tournament against the West Potomac Wolverines on
Saturday, 4-3. In a game that did not seem as close as the final score,
the Chargers scattered 9 hits, including 4 doubles and a home run.
Starting pitcher Jordan Johnson pitched the complete game for the win,
striking out 6, with no walks, 4 hits, and 1 earned run.

The Chargers scored in the top of the first inning after a double by Joe
Danehower, a walk by Matt Dewitt, and a fielder's choice by Brian King.
A double by Nick Kralles and a passed ball then scored King. Chantilly
scored again in the fourth inning after a home run by Brian King (left
center), a single and a stolen base by Kevin McGrath, and an RBI single
by DH Adam Fridy. Chantilly hit in every remaining inning but did not
score. The Wolverines scored 2 runs in the fourth inning on a double by
their starting pitcher, Grady O'Hagan, and two Chantilly fielding
errors. The Wolverines brought the score to within one run in the top of
the seventh inning when pinch hitter Sean Trenchard slammed a 2 out home
run. But a line drive to second ended the game.

Brian King (home run, 2B, 1B) led the Chargers' offense. Also
contributing were Joe Danehower (2B, HP, SB), Nick Kralles (2B), Kevin
McGrath (2B, 1B, SB), Matt Dewitt (1B, BB), Adam Fridy (2B), Tim
Bollinger (2 SB).

Chantilly next plays Washington & Lee on Monday at McLean HS at 10 AM.
