In a game of missed opportunities, the Varsity Chantilly Chargers lost to the Stone Bridge Bulldogs Monday night, 4-2. In 7 innings Chantilly left 15 men on base. Starting pitcher Jordan Johnson went 5-2/3 innings for the loss. Bill Boyle faced one batter in relief.

Chantilly got on the board first in the second inning after a double by left fielder Kevin McGrath, a sac bunt by third baseman Nick Kralles, and a single by right fielder Tim Bollinger. Though Stone Bridge scored a run in the bottom of the 2nd, Chantilly scored again in the 4th, after a walk by Tim Bollinger and 2 Bulldog throwing errors. But that was all that the Chargers could do. Stone Bridge scored 2 more runs in the 5th and an insurance run in the 6th.

Contributing to the Chargers' offense were center fielder Joe Danehower (BB, 2 1B), shortstop Danny Bates (SB), catcher Matt Dewitt (2 BB), first baseman Brian King (BB), DH John Colella (1B), Kevin McGrath (BB, 1B, 2B), Nick Kralles (1B, 2 sac bunts), and Tim Bollinger (2 BB, 1B, 2B, and an RBI).

Jordan Johnson struck out 6 while allowing no walks, 8 hits, and 3 earned runs.

The Chargers play Robinson at home on Thursday at 6:30 PM.
