The Varsity Chantilly Chargers defeated the Fairfax Rebels Friday night,
7-3. The Chargers hit 3 home runs, including a 3 run shot by catcher
Matt Dewitt. Starting pitcher John Colella, who was perfect through 3
innings, pitched the entire game.

Chantilly scored in the top of the first inning, after a triple by Matt
Dewitt drove in center fielder Joe Danehower. A sac fly by first baseman
Brian King brought in Dewitt, followed by a solo home run by left fielder Kevin
McGrath.

In the third inning Joe Danehower doubled and shortstop Danny Bates
reached on an error before Matt Dewitt's home run over the center field
fence cleared the bases. Third baseman Nick Kralles followed with
another solo home run.

Charger offense also included a single by John Colella, walks by Danny
Bates and second baseman Roger Strittmatter, and a stolen base by Wes
Kerbuski.

In 7 innings John Colella struck out 11 while allowing 1 walk, 4 hits,
and 2 earned runs.

The Chargers play away next Monday at Stone Bridge at 6:30 PM.
