Chantilly defeated the Robinson Rams Friday night in a game shortened by the slaughter rule. Chantilly's in-district record now stands at 4-2.

Though Robinson scored in the 1st inning, on 2 fielding errors, a fielder's choice, and a hit, Chantilly responded quickly. In the 2nd inning they banged out 8 hits and a walk, scoring 7 runs. In the top of 5th inning Chantilly added 4 more runs, on 3 hits and 2 walks. At that point the only question was if the game would last past 5 innings. But in the bottom of the 5th Robinson batters went down quickly, on two fly balls to the outfield and a strikeout, swinging. Final score was 11-1.

Leading Chantilly's offense were Brian Morrow (double, single, walk, 2 RBI's), Sonny Romine (double, single, 4 RBI), and Sam Hellman (2 singles, stolen base). Also contributing were Connor Major (single, walk, RBI), Collin Ryan (single, walk, RBI), Sam Zimmerman (single), Ben Langford (single), and Kevin Johnston (walk, RBI).

Starting pitcher Caleb Reinhardt (5 IP, 4 K, 6 hits, 1 walk, 0 ER, 75 pitches) pitched the entire game and earned the win.
