The play of the game Wednesday night in the Chargers' spring tournament outing against the Marshall Statesmen occurred in the top of the 9th, with the score tied 7-7. Leadoff batter Brian Morrow slammed a double to right center. Sam Zimmerman bunted him to third, and then Adam Fridy tripled to deep left center field, his 4th hit of the night, scoring Morrow. In the bottom of the 9th, relief pitcher Dan Lawler shut down the side, allowing only 1 hit. Final score was 8-7.
Adam Fridy (3B, 2B, 1B, 1B, RBI), Brian Morrow (2B, 2B), Jaime Danehower (1B, 1B, BB, RBI), Connor Major (1B, 1B, RBI), Matt DeWitt (2B, 2 RBI), Kevin Johnston (1B), Sam Zimmerman (sac bunt), and Ben Langford (RBI) all contributed to the Chargers' offense.
Will Bashaw (2-2/3 IP, 2K, 3 BB, 4H, 4 ER) was starting pitcher. Dan Lawler (6-2/3 IP, 7K, 0 BB, 9H, 2 ER) got the win in relief.
