LOUDOUN VALLEY HIGH: 10
Though the Chantilly Chargers held the Loudoun Valley Vikings scoreless through 4 innings at Fireman's Field Monday night, they were ultimately overwhelmed by Viking bats. Final score was 10-1.
The Chargers' only score occurred in the 2nd inning, following back-to-back singles by Brian Morrow and Ben Langford, a ground out by Adam Fridy, and a passed ball. The Chargers had a total of 4 hits for the night, two each for Morrow and Langford.
Starting pitcher Bill Boyle (4-2/3 IP, 8K, 9H, 5 ER) took the loss. Caleb Reinhardt (2/3 IP, 1K, 1H, 1 ER) and Dan Lawler (2/3 IP, 2K, 4H, 4 ER) pitched in relief.
The Chargers start their spring break tournament Friday afternoon at 4 PM at Marshall High School against the George Mason HS Mustangs.
