Although the TC Williams Titans' lead-off hitter slammed the first pitch of the game for a single in Monday night's Northern Region play-off match-up with the Chantilly Chargers, Chantilly quickly recovered. In the next 4 innings starting pitcher Jordan Johnson gave up only one more hit. Charger offense, meanwhile, overwhelmed the Titans with 14 hits of its own. Final score was 13-0.

The Chargers got on the scoreboard early when, in the bottom of the 1st inning, Danny Bates walked and Brian King hit a line drive to deep left field. When the ball got past the left fielder, Bates scored. In the third inning the Chargers loaded the bases after lead-off batter Danny Bates hit a double down the third base line, Brian King walked, and Kevin McGrath was hit by a pitch. Nick Kralles then hit a base-clearing double just over the second baseman's glove. Immediately afterwards, Matt Dewitt launched a 3-2 pitch over the left field fence AND the scoreboard. A Titan pitching change resulted in 3 walks in a row before Danny Bates, with his second hit of the inning, added 2 more runs. In the fourth inning a lead-off double by Kevin McGrath allowed a single by Matt Dewitt to notch a run, a ground rule double by Adam Fridy set up an RBI single by Joe Danehower, and a sac fly by Tim Bollinger brought in a third run. In the fifth inning a lead-off walk by Ryan Messick, a single by Wes Kerbuski, and a ground out by Ben Langford placed runners at 2nd and 3rd. A single by Adam Petrelle scored both.
