In a highly antcipated match-up of unbeaten neighborhood rivals, Westfield squeeked a 21-20 win at home. The Young Chargers fought valiantly until the end, providing the fans with all of the excitement they could handle.

The game opened with the Defense shutting the Bulldogs down, as would be the case most of the night. The "D" was led by Cormode, Bates, Louis, and Cobb, with major contributiions from Cronin and Reinhardt. This crew combined for 4 sacks and several hits for a loss! Kevin Thompson also came up with a big fumble recovery.

Offensively, Nico Alcalde led the way with a rushing and passing TD. Sam Cronin put the first points on the board, scoring on a great O line surge from the 2 yard line. Billy "No Look" Germaine was perfect on the night for PATs. Jimmy Hicks and the rest of the RBs gained hard fought yards all night. The excitement came in the last 1:34 when Alcalde drove 78 yards, including several 4th down conversions, including Matt Louis's big push to keep the drive alive.   With :06 remaining Alcalde connected with a diving Brady Caslavka (BRICO)to put the team within one. The Team went for the win, falling inches short of a miricle.

It was a great job, and the lessons should prove valua\ble as the boys head in to Herndon for another tough Concorde showdown!
