Despite scoring 67 points in their first two scrimmages, the young Charger Football team entered their first real game  against the Annandalle Atoms with some butterflies. By the end of the first quarter, however, they were up 7-0, rolling up 105 yards. The score came on Jimmy Hicks' 29 yard run and extra point by Billy " The Boot" Germaine. By the game's end, the Frosh had accumulated 325 yards in 47 plays and won 22-6. Nico Alcalde connected with Brady Caslavka ( The BriKo effect) for a 19 yard TD (Germaine kick) and Josh Soroko scored on a great  28 yard run for the final points.The O Line opened huge holes for all  of the backs to run through.

Defensively, the Chargers really stepped up. They allowed 88 yards of offense, only 7 in the first half. The D line set the tone, with Rig Red Cormode sacking the QB for a saftey in the first half. Caleb Reinhardt added a fumble recovery while Adam LeBrecque and Nzube Nwosu  recorded the second big sack of the game.

Overall, while it was a great way to start their young careers, the Frosh Chargers know they must play better next week against the always tough cross- town rivals- Westfield Bulldogs!
